KPLC Hurricane Laura Shirt
This was a surprise project, and I only had about a week or so to complete it. A little bit of a back story, at the end of August 2020 the Southwestern part of Louisiana was hit by a devastating category 4 hurricane (Hurricane Laura). There was a local tv station (KPLC) station in Lake Charles, basically where the eye of the storm hit. They had major damage and their tower antenna actually fell onto their station building, but luckily no one was hurt.
But they ended up coming to our station and staying until their building was useable again.
During the time they were here, my manager called me and asked me if I could design a shirt for them to surprise them, and below is the result, along with picture of the CEO and senior staff in our company visiting KPLC in Lake Charles with the shirts.
First Drafts
After about a day and a half of working on the designs, I came up with two different versions. We ended up going with the top one (with a few minor changes) because we felt like the bottom one was too reminiscent of their tower.
